Hi, I’m Kate — Acupuncturist with a Functional, Orthopedic Focus

Kate, acupuncturist at Wellness Haven Acupuncture, smiling outdoors in Winter Haven, Florida

With a background in psychology and nearly a decade in clinical practice, I work with active adults and everyday movers who are tired of chasing symptoms and want real answers.

My approach is rooted in restoring the body's function as a whole — not just temporarily quieting pain.

I specialize in identifying movement patterns, muscle imbalances, and nervous system responses that keep people stuck in cycles of discomfort, instability, or recurring injury.

This work is about helping your body move the way it was designed to — with strength, coordination, and ease.

How I Found This Work

I first experienced acupuncture in my early 20s after a physically demanding job left me with persistent shoulder pain that hadn’t responded to other care. One treatment created relief I hadn’t found anywhere else — and it changed how I understood the body’s capacity to heal.

That experience ultimately led me into this profession and shaped how I practice today: curious, precise, and focused on function.

Over time, clinical practice showed me something important — many people experience pain or dysfunction that doesn’t neatly fit into one diagnosis or body part. Low back pain, hip issues, core instability, shoulder problems, and even pelvic symptoms often share common roots in how the body stabilizes, compensates, and adapts under load.

That realization led me deeper into orthopedic acupuncture, dry needling, electroacupuncture, and movement-based assessment.

My approach is focused, functional, and personalized — no fluff, no cookie-cutter treatments.

I use the Exstore™ system to assess muscle function and identify what’s actually going on under the surface.

Each session blends orthopedic acupuncture, dry needling, and electro-stim with thoughtful movement and home care support.

Treatments are led by consent and always guided by your comfort. You’ll know what’s happening and why — and you’ll never be pushed past what you’re ready for.

You’re in control. I’m just here to help your body work the way it’s meant to.

Let’s Get to the Source

We treat shoulders, hips, knees, and ankles without hesitation — because movement issues don’t exist in isolation.

Your body works as a connected system, and when one area isn’t doing its job, something else ends up compensating.

Whether you’re an athlete, a new parent, or simply tired of feeling off, know this: persistent pain, tension, or instability is common — but it’s not something you have to live with.

These patterns are often treatable when you stop chasing symptoms and start addressing how your body moves and adapts.

You don’t have to figure it out alone.
Support starts with understanding what’s actually going on — and building from there.

The Bottom Line

I am not here to fix you.

I’m here to help your body find its way back to strength, stability, and ease — from the foundation.
